Back by popular demand!
I have another fabulous selection of ‘AI Bloopers’ that didn’t make the final edit for you, if you missed the first one, here it is, you’re in for a treat.
I love using Gencraft AI image generator to characterise my image for the lead images in my posts, and very often it takes about 16 attempts to get something postable.
The bizarre elements it often brings in are beyond comprehension, and a great reason to not fear the AI invasion quite yet, as it hasn’t even worked out how many limbs the ‘typical human’ has.
I uploaded only one image for reference, the headshot profile pic above (left), which is referred to in the AI prompts as ‘the woman in the picture’.
IMPORTANT: I really must stress that the ONLY image of myself I have EVER uploaded to Gencraft AI is this headshot.
You would do well to remember that specific info later on, as things go very awry the further you get down this post.
It’s a long one, so you might need to view it on the web, if your email cuts out midway.
And so it begins…
Let’s start with Exhibit A, a seemingly simple image of me on a merry-go-round, going quite fast (even the horse looks startled), to try and get across the point that I can’t get off, this appeared in a post for Type Club here:
My original thought was to put me on a hamster wheel…
But it was intent on making me the hamster, which didn’t really work… although I am loving those hair extensions.
So I abandoned that idea and tried a ‘runaway horse’…
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted the obvious flaw in this one, and total lack of reference to Zaphod Beeblebrox in the text prompt.
Seriously?!
Why would it think I wanted two heads???
The irritation here, is that the head on the right is actually quite useable, but I couldn’t be arsed to photoshop the other one out… isn’t that supposed to be the point of using AI, to reduce your retouching time? 😳
After another ten attempts that would have given Black Beauty a run for its money, I abandoned that line of questioning and went to the fairground…
Aside from the eyebrows, why am I suddenly wearing a Wonder Woman outfit?
This one did make me laugh though, especially when I realised that smug expression has more than a whiff of comedy legend Michael McIntyre! 😂
So I wondered what it would serve up with this:
AI text prompt: Michael McIntyre, on a waltzer
Oops! I’d forgotten to delete the reference pic of me first… what a cute couple! 😂
Micro Goals
At last, the subject of a post which lends itself really well to pictorial representation!
Micro Goals, as the name would suggest, are easily achievable little goals, positioned on the way to help motivate you on your journey to achieving the big goal.
What could be simpler than me kicking a ball at a lot of tiny goals…
Ok, I’m not crazy about my crazed expression, but hats off to my fancy footwork! 👏
What about me standing in front of a whiteboard, ticking boxes?
Would you take advice from this woman? 😳
This woman is clearly en route to world domination, but what in God’s name is that arm/leg combo in the background?!
Obviously I do take this one along to my hairdressers every time as reference, but so far she hasn’t quite managed to capture its majesty. Sigh.
After many more fruitless attempts, I eventually went with this one:
Last but very much not least…
This was the eventual winner, until I added the voiceover to this post, and changed it:
As ever, there were several runners-up:
This will give you some idea of why there are never substitutions in my grocery delivery.
I think on the whole, the poor little AI was getting ‘lemons’ muddled up with ‘melons’, because even with the top one, I had to raise the box to cover my modesty in Photoshop.
Which is why the last two are for my inner circle only…
Please note, I did not use these phrases in the prompt text:
‘wearing just a bra’
‘entire right boob out’
