Same here - at my age I tend to lose friends and rarely make new ones so I completely agree with what you say about these events widening our social circles ☺️
Thanks so much for the post Kate and it was great to meet you. Such a thrill to hear, 'oh yes I have heard of the Lellogram'. And I was one of the ones who was all, 'you are Kate!' Loved the enthusiasm and variety and hope to come to more. Anyone live in East Sussex?! xx
That was a fun gathering to tag along on and I've made note of the Curious Magpie and Book, Coffee, Cat (thank you for the party preview). I wonder if there's some sort of app/map out there that shows Substack users in your vicinity like Grindr. Might be patchy in my parts (for both) but I had a neat moment last week when a woman slowed down on Old Woman's River Road to say, "Hey, our book club is reading your book! I told the others that you were friends with Holly." (*Holly is this woman's dog, and it's true. We are Holly's friends! I have no idea what Holly's owner's name is!).
Ha. Well, the book is about the Camino de Santiago so I feel like Martin Sheen and Emilio really stole my thunder. Unless my wife and I were cast as dogs in the film? And Grindr totally works for coffee hook-ups, doesn't it? Book chat lovers would appreciate the full and proper spelling of the word too: Grinder. Done! No copyright issues.
A lovely summary here Kate - and thanks for the handy list of Substacks!
Check them out, we're in good company! 😘

Yes, I remember! 😃
Ooh East Sussex is not too far from me, I’m around Guildford, is that too far for you?
What a fun group. Everyone is beaming. Great photo. Ours will be on the 24th. Can’t wait.
Sounds like your group is meeting up regularly now, nice one! 👏😘
Sounds brilliant, Kate and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make this one. I hope to join the next one!
You were missed, will def see you at the next one! 😘
PS: I never pegged you for a football fan. 😉
I actually do quite like the football, but I was out with some work colleagues for their leaving drinks. Hope to see you soon!

Grindr for Substack would be amazing, love that idea! Just for coffee and book chat obvs. 😉
Sounds like you've hit the big time by befriending Holly, does she know any owners who could turn the book into a film maybe? 🤓

Genius! Where do I sign-up! 👏
I'll send you a coffee filter in the mail with secret details, Kate!
how lovely!
LOVE THIS POST. LOVE YOUR ENERGY. LOVE EVERYONE FOR COMING. LOVE SUBSTACK ❤️
👏 🥰
The concept terrifies me so maybe I should do it. This is the year of challenging myself...
So lovely! I think I have missed the date, can anyone please 🙏🏻 tell me how do I check the future meet ups 🥺🤍🙏🏻
I think Substack publish them here: https://substack.com/events
Looks like there’s one coming up in San Francisco.
Also, keep an eye on Notes, I shall certainly be shouting about any that I hear about in London. 😘
Thank you so much! I didn’t know!! 🤍
